that's for another standard View today we are going to rain RL 6.7 what you need for this lesson is your ways textbook to complete turn to page 227 African dance to this lesson we need to review some tools that writers use to tell a story which could be dialog direct. movies Christmas the elements of story first let's breakdown the chart in the First Column you have the element Elementary Storyteller flat Moody tones how is how is represented in a book that you read and is there a column is how those elements are represented in a movie or play that you see and hear so let's first compare how I'm done in a book and how it is done in the movie or play character descriptions of characters in action there's information about the main character's background what the characters say and how he thinks in the movie character is represented by how an actor interprets the character the sound of the character's voice in the way the characters speak and the actions and reactions of several several characters at one one advantage Riders have over filmmakers when it comes to characters is that a writer can tell the reader what the characters a filmmaker would have to come up with creative ways or do voice overs to represent represent what a character is thinking so a writer has that Advantage so when you read a story you can get the character's thoughts are the presentation of setting in a book setting is presented by detailed descriptions of the place and time information about specific elements of the setting the color house for the smell of new in a movie or a play setting is presented by images comparing the appearance and styles of a setting all at once close up visual details such as a rusty door that's what house are the fabric of a curtain when it comes to setting of the scene on film but a writer we need plenty of space and me the words to describe this thing steady meaning a filmmaker can get The Hold Steady in one shot for a writer a writer has to really use imagery and go into lots of detail to paint that same picture to give you the same visual of the setting so that is one advantage that are filmmaker as of right now let's look at how is presented in a book and how it is presented in a movie or play in the book The Five Points of important event that keep the flight movie details about the conflict how it seems to be and how it is resolved and a movie though a version of the plot is written to fit within a certain amount of time in the story so mainly by characters talking and doing things that you can see so often times in the movie The filmmaker how to simplify the plot in order for it to make Astoria movie move I'm seeing that are in a book they have to be left out so therefore if you ever read the book you go into the movie like wait a minute this part wasn't in the or they added that that wasn't in the mood that wasn't in the book The filmmakers have to make adjustment like that in order to make the plot of a book Seymour cinematic and lastly let's look at mood and tone in a book mood and tone is that by imagery figurative language in descriptive details to help you create a YouTube picture of a sea a movie of it is set by lighting camera angles sound effects and music that combined to create the combination of images sound allows filmmakers to yet create a mood quickly writers have to rely on their descriptive language in the imagination of the reader to create a move so think about the scariest book in the scary movie that you've ever seen for me one scariest books I've ever read was a book by Stephen King called Carrie that has a famous movie in the 1970s of the name for me the movie which much was much much scarier for a couple of reasons the musical score had those minor note so it created a certain movie that was very eerie and then it had a certain lighting where it was soft tannins in a sepia tone that gave it up kind of eerie look whereas in the book I didn't find the area found the book is Mort in free games and I got to create my own visual pictures with the movie This Much scarier because of those certain things like sound also in the movie it had a horror movie thing call it jump-scare right and a jump-scare uses the score with music it's real Intense or real quiet and all of a sudden there's a foot that'll shock you know they're called jump-scares in in the movie it had a couple very notable jump-scares which made the movie terrifying me as a child so much today let's look at page 228 in on your own I would like you to complete this chart think about why you like reading a story in a book and what you enjoy about being on string then think about what you don't like about each version and strong observations to each section include examples from books and movies you read or see so in the chart you have Posey cons of Chris story in
