A message from Osyka Elementary School principal, Dr. Angela Lowery concerning the 4-week virtual summer school course

greetings parent guardian and student I am here to tell you a little bit about a virtual summer school that will be beginning July 6th and it will run for four weeks and the lessons will be taught by your child teacher in addition to the lasses that your child's teacher assignment for students to do in their free workbooks are students exempt home we left for spring break and parents who came to the school to pick them up but either way your child should have their ready workbooks because there will be assignment for them to do when their workbook listen to the assignment in the workbooks students will also be assigned I ready lessons based on the focus kills each week there will be an already listening for reading and want some the purpose for our virtual summer school is to ensure that our students are ready to begin next year our students missed all of the lessons that your child receiving our lessons from 4th nine weeks so important that our students are viewed videos and doing these assignment if you have any questions or any concerns about the lesson that your child teacher has taught or any of your sinus the workbook so that I ready listen please contact your child's teacher via School status teachers have been sending messages to you through also during the summer to be a school status so that communication that connection should be there between your child's teacher and you another thing we will also be monitoring using i-Ready this is a way for us to see which students. Those lessons received those Witnesses ever have been working almost Lansing and it's also a way for us to keep a tally of the number of stew it's that participated and I are virtual summer school now before I close out this video you will be able to access those videos on our osyka elementary and to get there you will go to southpike.org and click on osyka Elementary School to the video with the videos will be there for you I will also try to share those videos on our Facebook page again in questions or concerns about those videos about the assignment please communicate with your child's teacher the office for elementary will be open beginning July 1st so other questions that you may have that your teacher may not have the answer to I'll be more than happy to answer any questions for you one last thing parents I know that you've been concerned about exactly when we're going to begin we're playing for our students to begin school on August 6th which is what's on our calendar if that changes we will let you know as soon as possible play someone as I know I will let you know and as far as how school will look once we start school again it's probably going to be going to be the planning for our upcoming 2 year has not been completely finalized once everything has been finalized parents we will contact you we will let you know exactly what's going on if you have not purchased any math to send back to school with your please do so we did not add that to our school supply list we kind of got our school supply list out pretty early I will put some sanitizing things on there but didn't include the math out and about and you see masks that are available now go ahead and pick up a couple so that you can send it to school with your child if we're able to go back to school the way they were planning for I would like so if you have for your child please do so before school starts and again if our start date for food changes we will immediately let you know once we have finalized all of the planning for the upcoming school year will notify you to let you know exactly what school would look like for the upcoming school year I miss everyone and I hope everyone is safe thank you and have a good day
