🏆 South Pike School District Weekly Athletics Update 🏆
What an incredible weekend for South Pike! Our powerlifting teams dominated the State Championships, bringing home both the girls' and boys' team titles. Huge congratulations to Coach Tyrone Varnado, who now holds the record for the most state championships in MHSAA history with 12 victories! We're incredibly proud of Coach Varnado, his team, and all the staff for their outstanding achievements. Thank you for your dedication and hard work!
Here's what's coming up this week in athletics:
⚾ Our baseball team is set to play a doubleheader against Jefferson County this Monday at 5 PM. They'll also be heading to Tylertown for a non-district game on Thursday, starting at 4:30 PM.
🏃♂️ Junior High track will conclude their season at Brookhaven HS this Tuesday, with the meet kicking off at 4 PM.
🥎 Softball will host Port Gibson for Senior Night, tentatively scheduled for Thursday at 5 PM.
🏈 Our Flag Football team will take on McComb at home this Thursday at 6 PM, with the game taking place at Southwest Mississippi Community College. Please note, the softball game time may change to avoid a clash with the flag football game. We aim to have strong fan support for both teams!
